Old Schoolhouse Road
On a spring morning in March, the high school in a small rural town about seventy miles west of the DC beltway is rocked by a school shooter. The perpetrator escapes before the police arrive on the scene. Troubled by the evidence, the sheriff calls on the FBI to help. Even though on his first case with the profiling team, Special Agent Tim McAndrews soon realizes that the shooter targeted only honor roll students in the class for death. It is up to Tim and the profiling team to find the shooter’s identity. As they pursue the killer, the evidence leads them to a dark and twisted world and to villains they never expected.

Fantastic pacing. You open with a tense, nail-biting scene that brought me right into the story and didn’t let go until the end. The narrative was very well organized, bringing me along step by step as Tim and his colleagues try to unravel the school shooting. Your characters are well fleshed out, relatable, and based in reality. From Tim, all the way to Kandar, your characters are believable. Tim is a wonderful hero. He’s compassionate and trying to find his footing in a new department. I liked Roxie and wasn’t prepared for the ending (which is a terrific ending!) A complex, yet intriguing plot that held my interest throughout. I love stories where nothing is as it seems and you deliver with what is really behind the shooting. Peeling back each layer which then leads to another layer is well executed. I had no problems following the intricacies of the interweaving plots. Great job!
